Growing up in Jamaica, my twin brother, Jamel, and I found our first love in soccer. Spurred on by our mom's unwavering belief in our athletic potential, she knew there were bigger future opportunities. She worked double shifts to keep us in sports programs, as her sacrifices fueled our dreams. At 16 years old, thanks to her relentless determination, my brother and I moved to the United States. We knew the journey ahead wouldn't be easy.
The transition tested us all. Mom's daily video calls and care packages bridged the miles between us when we enrolled in college. And having my twin by my side made this new world feel less foreign. We pushed each other on the track, turning sibling rivalry into mutual motivation. Our synchronized footsteps on the track echoed the rhythm we'd known since sharing a heartbeat.
Now, as NATFL’s professional track athletes competing on the international circuit, we're living proof of Mom's wisdom: "Success runs in pairs." From those humble soccer games in our hometown to racing in stadiums across America, our family's journey shows that dreams multiply when shared with those you love. Share our dreams, by supporting us.
